This is an honorable mention to the gelding who has been with me for half his life. Sam, previously shown under the name “Fahrenheit” and is now lovingly known as “Old Man”, has dedicated his golden years to me in the show ring. He was my first jumper and last. He is still alive and kicking, but enjoying his retirement days as a glorified barn horse. He comfortably lives his retirement half the time outside and half inside his 12’x24’ stall. For those who knew Sam in his younger years knew that he was a strong horse with the desire to compete is classes much higher than what I confidently could do. He has a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. For that, I owe him a safe and comfortable landing after years of riding.
